What I'm Reading This Week #35

Howdy do and happy last Friday of August!  I hope you had a good week and if your weather was like ours, it was FINALLY under 93 degrees.  Don't get me wrong, I know sweater weather isn't here but it was nice to not have the AC working overtime (set to 76) starting at 11am every day!   It was nice to not walk out to water the garden and walk into a wall of humidity so I will take what I can get.    Speaking of which: With this 3" San Marzano , I shall be able to make enough sauce to cover 7.3 spaghetti noodles. 😒 Now let's get to: How to Stock Your Pantry for Quick & Easy Meals in Minutes   (Ooh, I need to crockpot some black beans for some sweet potato black bean burritos.) What Happens to Your Body When You Start Lifting Weights After 50   (Stay strong, sharp, and independent—no matter when you start.) Ditching This Common Food Type Could Double Weight Loss, According To Scientists (It makes sense and I've started to cut back on them for ...

Back to the starting line- Weigh In

I lost the pound I didn't deserve to gain last week.  So I'm back to what I was when I started the month.  I'd celebrate but you know, it's like I've lost nothing this month and all of my workouts have been for nothing so I'll just say it is what you make it (affiliate link) and move on.

Stayed up waaaay too late watching the Hawaii Warriors and San Jose State go through a 12 turnover game only to have my Warriors lose by 1.  Quite a game but not good when you're up early for a road trip.  Zzzzzz.  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. I have to disagree that the workouts have been for nothing. Firstly, without them you may very well have kept that pound! :) Secondly, they will help you and your metabolism kick more pounds later on!

  2. Caught up on your posts here finally, busy week! Glad you're having a good weekend and I would say I'd probably still be jumping up and down if I could squeeze into a size 18/20 no matter how vanity sized it was!

    Enjoy your road trip today!

  4. I know that feeling, but I also know it's one of those 'untruths' we tell ourselves--that the scale must go down for there to be progress. The fact that you did those workouts is success in its own right!

  5. Sorry your team lost--at least they didn't get pounded by 30 points like mine did...Keep at it girl! Those workouts are what got you where you are and will get you where you're going!
