Hump Day Poll: Hobbies

My mom had a ton of hobbies.  She was a scrapbooker , cardmarker, diamond art  maker, slot machine jockey, bingo player, cross stitcher , occasional sewing thrown in when I was a kid to save money.  She loved being creative.  I also love being creative but haven't done much on that front.  I suppose you could say my Etsy shop is about as creative as I've gotten lately but hobbies that become something you depend on money for, it becomes less fun and more job.  (Not that that's producing anything right now anyway since I've not done a single thing with it yet this year because of the house chaos but I digress.)  I have this bad habit of going full force into ideas and pooping out on them.  I still have a bin full of stuff to make risers for stuff like soap, tea kettles , etc waiting for me to do something with them.  I have drawers full of stuff for craft projects that rarely get touched and then inherited a bunch of Mom's stamps and card m...

Hump Day Poll: Anyone Else...

Howdy y'all, I've gotta question for you.

Anyone out there wear barefoot shoes?  Specifically, I have the Lems 3 which is supposed to be the widest, I think.  Before I invested in those, I got these which are still good but much less expensive for workouts downstairs.

I'm fine for workouts since it's on a cushioned floor but the hour long 2 1/2 mile walks on sidewalks and asphalt the past two weeks have been doing me in.  If I thought my foot pain was bad before, welcome to the seventh circle of hell.  I'll be your hostess.

I wasn't sure if anyone out there has transitioned to zero drop barefoot shoes or not and if so, did they also feel like a railroad spike was being hammered in with each step.  If so, when does that end?

I'm sure I won't get any responses on this one but figured it couldn't hurt to ask.

  1. Wish I had an answer but you know I don't wear them. I do hope you find out more though. I wonder if you might need to immerse in them for a while as in wear them all day around the house too but I don't want to steer you wrong either.

  2. I don't wear them because I can't. My feet need to be in shoes or slippers at all times because I need the arch support to help my knees and hips stay in alignment, and because I have neuropathy so I can't feel the balls of my feet or toes. So I'm of no help on this one. Are there any forums that talk about the foot pain you're experiencing with these shoes? I'm thinking like on Runner's World or something like that?
