What I'm Reading This Week #25

Hello and happy Friday from the land of the scorching sun.  We are in for absolute Hades conditions the next few days, right on cue for the summer solstice.  You know I'm not happy about that. 😒 Thankfully, my other 50% shade cloth just arrived and is airing out so they can go on in the afternoons.  I have stuff in the big planters that are not fans of scorching heat so I need to be as on it as possible if I don't want it to go to poop for other reasons to add to the current reasons.  (Rain, pests, etc) I'm tryin' y'all!  I just got my little lint rollers to roll aphids/larvae off instead of wasting shipping tape.  I swear to you I have not seen ONE BEE since everything went in.  There was this chubby bumble bee that would hang out when our lilac was in bloom and just zone out levitating so I thought for sure she would be here for it all.  Nope.  The second it bloomed, it was gone.  I haven't seen honeybees at all.  I've checked ...

I mentioned last night that the Harvest Festival was going on in Sharon Springs, NY this weekend to the Mr and asked if he wanted to go.  Got a look of horror, then an "if you want to."  I really do. Probably not.  Maybe next year?

    TGIF! Considering those post-holiday weeks can sometimes seem longer, this one felt about right and I'm looking forward to the weekend. Have a great weekend everybody!

    I'm definitely ready for the weekend. I've been fighting a cold all week, and even went to the doctor. I've got meds on board and am finally feeling better - but my grading and house have gotten way out of control so I have a lot to catch up on. Ugh. Also have a parade and festival thing in town tomorrow that I'd like to skip, but the boy wants to go so we'll go.

    I'll be spending this weekend doing some birthday/anniversary shopping for the hubs. Plus laundry, and if I'm so inclined, I'd like to try a new soup, maybe a beef/barley type of deal. So lots and lots of errands. Oh yeah, and college football of course tomorrow. Oh yeah, and pro football. Well, hell. Now I need to rethink my timing and get my tookus up earlier and out the door! LOL
