What I'm Reading This Week #1

Happy first Friday of the new year!  I hope everyone has been easing back into habits that don't make you feel like sleeping.  I know the holiday yummies are great to enjoy but usually about this time I'm like "if I ever see another cookie again it'll be too soon!"  (That lasts about 2 weeks until I see a cookie.  Just kidding)  Speaking of cookies, are the Mr and I the only ones that hate those boutique gigantor cookie shops that have popped up over the past few years that taste like crap??  Everyone seems to love them but they have NO salt in them so they just taste horribly off to us and we shouldn't have to bring our own sea salt flakes to the cookie shop.  If you're wasting 700-800 calories on one of those cookies, it sure as hell better have the basic science like salt down.  Where the hell did that come from?  First tirade of the year.

Check.

Now let's check out:

7 symptoms indicate that you are not drinking enough water  (I really wish I didn't need a constant reminder to chug my monstrous water  bottle and even then it doesn't always work.)

Farts say more about your health than you think — now, scientists are listening  (If you think that's funny, wait until you see what they named the machine!!)

What Is Manipulative Behavior?  (Yep, this hits it all on the head.)

Taking hydrocortisone immediately after a traumatic event may help prevent PTSD  (Wow, really interesting study but I thought hydrocortisone was only a cream?)

How Long Does a Bottle of Wine Generally Last Once It's Opened?  (If you drank cheap ass red wine on NYE, break it out tonight!)

We're settling back into reality after having been in Vermont for the holidays.  We desperately needed the time away and honestly I was glad to be away from the bedroom so I could hopefully get a new found appreciation for it when we got back.  We hope that you enjoyed our project posts as they were written while they were being completed so all of the full emotion was oozing from them.  There will be some related posts coming up and eventually a few more projects but for now, we're enjoying what is done!  (Edit:  I love how I assumed when I wrote this post that we would get a relaxing Christmas.  Like many of you, we did not.  More on that next week.)

What's on tap for your weekend?  How's the first week of the new year treating you?

  1. Happy New Year everyone. Nothing like being back a routine that you want to escape from most of the time but that's life.

  3. Happy New Year. It's been a good first week, very busy with doing more purging of stuff and some deep cleaning that hasn't been touched in years. Have a great weekend.
