Survival Mode Put Us Back to Zero

A lot of you came here many moons ago when I left Sparkpeople.  I loved the community of that place and the support I got there.  It was at the height of us being on our game.  That motivation you have in the beginning when you're consistently rewarded with weight loss, smaller clothes, compliments to keep your motivation high and you somehow begin to step out of being invisible to the public to people smiling at you, opening doors or striking up conversation.  You start to feel human.  You don't have to worry about going to restaurants or 'fitting' somewhere.  You can go to a wedding and see those God awful thin folding chairs and while you still don't like them, you're not concerned.  Many of your worries that fit people never had to think of, have faded away.  We started for the long haul in our 30's and that's when we had the most success, losing 226 and 190 lbs respectively.  When we went on vacation, as long as we came back and got rig...

Pottery Barn Current Gray Crushes

I got a new Pottery Barn catalog in the mail and you know what that means...it's time to look at my Current Crushes!

Let's peruse PotteryBarn.com

I saw these dishes in gray and literally gasped but I'm still dealing with my unwieldy Cambria which is an inch bigger than these so I chose to drool over the serving bowl and platter for guests that we'll never entertain.

I scrolled past this Willow Square Basket and my heart started racing.

Our bathroom has similar coloring and while our current trashcan is very similar in shape, it was painted and just didn't turn out the way we wanted.  I'm hoping it comes down a little more on price because even on sale for $41, I'm still too cheap to pay it.

I have your typical cheap "boob lights" in the kitchen, front hall and at the top of the stairs.  I've been searching high and low for a flush mount that I actually like.  I may have found it...

The PB Classic Flushmount with Ribbed Glass is very similar to what I was looking for especially after seeing a pendant version in the home we stayed in on Martha's Vineyard.  Mama's gonna have to wait for a serious sale first though.

I love this Gray Fringed Hand-Loomed Rug

At some point we're taking the antique area rug out of the living room to see if the allergies I have with my eyes are from the flooring or the rug.  If it's the rug, then I'd like this one to replace it since it says it's soft underfoot and I do miss that since ours is scratchy.

Well, I guess I should stop looking at the catalog because that'll just get me in trouble!

What are you crushing on?

  1. I actually like the light you found here and I am not opposed to checking that rug out too, actually. It might be nice to have a softer rug. But I would want to see it in person first.

  2. These are so pretty! I really like the basket -- perfect for your bathroom. I'll be interested to see if the rug you currently have is causing your allergies. That's a perfect reason to get this new rug! =o)
