My Favorite Products That Make My Life Easier

I'm sure you probably know from today to Friday (11th) is Prime Day.  If you remember my post about how I can keep this place up and running yearly, you know unfortunately Amazon is really the only way I can make that happen since I'm considered a 'mini' blogger.  My sassy thoughts doth not jibe with sponsors, my following is small (which I love actually) so Amazon affiliate links are the only way I can hit that target.

I will say that due to tariff pauses expiring at the end of day today, prices could go way up tomorrow (9th) so I would encourage you to buy today even though Prime Day doesn't end until the 11th.  I know I will be.

I'm going to share products I love and if you check 'em out and buy them or anything on Amazon once you click through, it'll help me keep the place jumpin'.

I can't begin to tell you the game changer this is especially for someone who isn't a clean freak.  The last thing my mind but more importantly my body want to do is bend down and scrub the shower floor or walls.  When I think about it or if the shower is starting to get that kind of stale smell to it, I grab my favorite shower cleaner, give it a spray and let it sit a few minutes then go to town.  This baby allows me to stand up and not get a sore lower back.  The job is done in one minute tops.

When you live in a townhome, you need to maximize everywhere you can put flowers.  We mounted these to our fence and they've worked out beautifully.  They are adjustable to slide to accommodate the size of flower box you have so they can be snug.  You could also attach them to your home like the picture above shows if you own it.  (Don't be doing that in an apartment or condo unless you want serious problems!)

Y'all, when your hubby happily grabs a tool to weed without being asked, you get it!  While I've tried to do my best to keep weeds at bay, the chipmunk diggers leave just enough space for the sun to grow the weeds along with the flowers.  Again, because we're not looking for back aches at this (or any) age this allows you to put the tool over the weed (kickstand toward you) and bend it back and pop goes the weed!  Not only does it work on weeds, you know those little bastard suckers coming out of trees that are curse word generators?  This works on those too like buttah.  I can't recommend this enough!

You know how you have that one ornamental tree that seems to get more sad with each passing year?  You don't want to risk messing up your car by pulling it out with a rope or pay someone hundreds of dollars to remove it...enter the Root Slayer.  (*cue heavy metal guitar*)  If you saw yesterday's post, you saw this was instrumental in cutting, loosening and essentially mulching bigger roots on a 10 year old tree.  If we had it to do over again, drilling a 'perforation line' through the bigger roots (4-6" wide) and then using the end of this would've done the trick for sure.  I even saw in some reviews people used it on bamboo which we all know is basically herculean.

You guys know I've raved about this before but it bears repeating.  I LOVE THIS LIL CUTIE!  A perfect Bluetooth speaker with a really good range so I can be on the patio or in the garage playing something from my laptop and get 6+ hours of jams per charge!  It's adorable so it doesn't look techy.  It's also a radio so perfect if you need to stay on top of weather updates if the power is out and you've kept it charged up.

Rolling brownouts are pretty common this time of year for big and small cities alike and the demands on the grid are only growing.  This isn't one of the big boys that will run your whole house, it's a gap stop for typically small outages or to keep a warmer running for picnics/recharging small appliances.  We have two of these and our electric company typically takes 4 hours to repair pretty much everything.  One fully charged one will run our French door fridge for 2 hours if we plug it in when the power goes out so it doesn't have to cool it back down.  This lil guy has saved our bacon several times between grid issues and weather related outages.  There are solar panels you can get to help recharge but I'll be honest, they won't recharge quickly.  As soon as the power comes back on, recharge them and set up a reminder to check/charge every 2-3 months so you've always got full power on the ready just in case.

When a field behind us was filled in with a business, we started noticing some rando with a flashlight come down the hill into our vicinity.  One night we saw him go onto our neighbors' patio.  Enter these babies.  We installed them on the outside of our gate on either side and after one blast in the face that lit up the Earth, he never returned.  Since then, we crack up when we get a camera alert from the backyard cam because we know it's some unsuspecting person walking their dog too close to our fence getting face blasted.  They are BRIGHT and motion activated.  We absolutely love these, they're super affordable and they are compact so they aren't obnoxious size wise.

This tool is in my chiropractor's toolbox so by default it's in mine.  He would use this to loosen up spots before really digging in.  If the Mr had problems, I would know where to get him from my experience before doing what I could to save on an appointment cost.  It's amazing post workout, when you wake up with a kink in your neck as well as putting it on your main lymph nodes to get fluid moving.  All kinds of different attachments to do the job like a softer ball for sensitive spot to a U shaped prong to get deep especially if you've got tight calves.  *raises hand*  I'm not lying when I say it's literally beside my bed in case a leg cramp happens in the middle of the night.  Super affordable too!

You guys have heard me talk about this too but it bears repeating.  I've been using this lately to try to loosen the peroneal tendinitis that is giving me scorching foot pain and it's been doing a great job to help chip away at the scar tissue from years of bunged muscles.  I won't lie, if you're tight, it's going to be uncomfortable but if you're consistent, it will let up.  There are different rollers to dig with the depth you may need.  Heck I'll even use that bumpy one to roll out my arches by itself on the floor!  It comes with a carrying case that fits nicely on the backseat floor for travel as well.  It's not just for those who workout, it's perfect to keep things loose as you age, to undo years of muscle imbalance and release tension if you're a clencher.

You guys remember the old school timers, right?  Well, they got a pretty awesome upgrade.  I think we have, no lie, 12 of these both in the house and to travel with.  Download the app, set the schedule to be as random or as strict as you like, multiple times a day if need be, and you're good to go.  I've used these with plant lights to grow seedlings as well as the fan to strengthen stems.  We've got the bedroom lights hooked up so if we're downstairs, we can hop on the app and turn on the light while shutting things down on the main floor.  We've used them while traveling if we're going to be coming home later and want the lights on for our return.  I know it's dorky to be excited about timers but I don't know how we lived without them before!

You know those middle of the night wee sessions?  No more fumbling around and stubbing a toe trying not to curse in tongues and wake up the household.  We've got one in the hallway and one in the bathroom.  It's a nice warm light so you're not getting blasted and it's nice and flat so it doesn't stick out far like old school night lights.  No need to remember to turn it on at night, it's ready to roll when you are.

The over 40 crowd can appreciate this one for sure.  When you're on the go and you remember you left your readers at home, these come to the rescue every time!  I got these for the Mr before he got readers to stash around the house and they came in handy for so many things.  They're flexible, fit on your keychain or if you hike- on your backpack zipper.  They are the perfect stocking stuffer or the gag gift for a milestone birthday that will actually be useful.  Super convenient and he looks so cute in them when he puts them on I want to pinch his cheeks.  (Up to you to decide which ones I'm talking about!)

I know, they look like space ships but let me tell you how your garage or basement can go from a friggin' cave to a normally lit room with just one turn into a normal light receptacle.  Okay, I guess I just did but the point is, we could never see ANYTHING in the garage for decades and then I bought these and the heavens sang with a flip of the switch.  We love how you can angle the different arms so you can direct light where it's needed if you're working on a project.  We've had them for over 3 years and never had an issue with them.

Tree huggers, this is not for you.  Look, we'll turn off the lights and leave the patio door cracked but if a fly has been hanging out for hours without getting the hint it's time to leave, the Mr fires this up.  It's actually comical to watch as he looks around and I play navigator but once they are in the danger zone, it's fry time.  It folds up for easy storage and for having to contort to odd or tight spaces.  Flies or other nuisance bugs don't stand a chance and it saves your sanity for later which is good for someone like me with hearing so acute I could hear a gnat fart.  (I swear they taunt you by flying past your ear.)

These things are a God send any time of year but especially right now.  Whether you workout, garden or even going out to grocery shop walking from your car to the store, you're probably going to get a case of boob sweat.  This time of year you have to worry about getting a rash underneath and these definitely help!  (Other MVP's for that issue is this powder and this rash paste.)  I just place these under my bra strap and even under my stomach to absorb sweat when working out.  I know, not a great topic to think about but I'm nothing if not real.

I think that's a good smattering of the things we use quite often to make our life easier.  We're all about taking care of business but not sacrificing comfort or risking injury as we work to get our muscles back into shape.  So click through some of the links and if you don't like what you see, see what lightning deals they're running on your usual favorites to stock up on.  I'll be doing two friends birthday and Christmas shopping for things on their lists to save money.   Again, reminder about tariff pause ending tomorrow so the lowest prices on some items may only apply today.  😕

What are some products that make your life easier?  I'm always interested in how others use things I may not have heard of!

  2. Great list! The bathroom scrubber looks fabulous. We have a horrendous tub enclosure and hard water, and that makes for a lot of hard water stains on the walls and tub. We have those same lights for the basement and garage! They make a huge difference and the furnace guy appreciates how bright it is downstairs when he does yearly checkups. I've used the bra/belly cloths for years and they are wonderful, especially during menopause when I just sweat all the more.
