Hump Day Poll: Your Childhood Go To's
Candy Edition! I was thinking about my Mom's 50th birthday party. It was a wonderful memory because I worked really hard on it and planned it for 9 months to make it great for her. Because she didn't have a 25th wedding anniversary, I knew I was going to go all out for her 50th. I had family, friends, people from high school, co-workers (ones I knew she liked! 😁) and I loved seeing her face when she would see people she hadn't seen in a long time. One of the biggest hits that people talked about for years after were the retro candy baskets on every table. I bought ones that I knew were her favorites as well as looking at what were popular at the time. People lost their minds and were squealing like kids when they saw their favorites. I got all of the candy through Candy Favorites website and it's always so fun to look through. I was perusing the site, I was thinking of what stuff I'd want in the baskets on my table for a party like Mom's: Cher...
Good luck with the refrigerator coming! I hope you really like it and it has good organization options once it's filled up, all shiny and new!
ReplyDeleteI have to run to pick up a bag of ice today and that's all I have to do in public that I know of. lol I didn't get to anything on my list yesterday so today is empty boxes, breaking down boxes, doing laundry, returning a bra through the post office, and trying not to be grumpy the whole day. Ha! Weather is supposed to be quite good, given we had snow and ice Monday and 45mph sustained winds yesterday. Dogs will definitely get walks in this weekend. Then I work the weekend. Bah.
Have a good weekend and try to get that nice drive in! xoxo
Me too! It's always weird to have to potentially rearrange stuff you're used to grabbing in one spot for 11 years! Hope you had fun breaking down your boxes and you and the pups don't blow away.
DeleteYep got lots to do today to prep for the fridge. Just hope we do get some time to get out and about tomorrow after getting the delivery cause it just seems like a good time to get out. Have a great weekend everybody!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all of your hard work getting that together! Looks like we've got an earlyish time slot so we don't have to be stuck here all day!
DeleteWe did a driving road trip and private rental place over spring break, so I'm trying to get myself geared up to go back to school tomorrow. The big excitement for the weekend is to make a grocery run. Woohoo. I agree about staying 6 feet away from me even after all of this is over - I think that should be a social norm. If I don't know you, I don't want you any closer than that. I usually get several colds a year and haven't yet this year (knock on wood) I think b/c kids are actually staying home when they are sick and wearing a mask keeps me from touching my face so much.
