Non Scale Victories This Week
During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses. I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses. My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights. Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through. On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower. I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. I'm a Orange Pekoe (black tea?) kinda girl. Nothing else. Not even green tea. It's too bitter tasting for me. Oh, and it has to have sugar. So I haven't been drinking it lately. sigh
ReplyDeleteI'm totally a coffee girl. I only rarely drink tea, and when I do I don't want it to taste like tea. I like orange spice, or peach, or peppermint, or... and the appeal of iced tea escapes me but I have been trying to "acquire" the taste because I know it's a better option than diet cola.
ReplyDeleteI like cold green tea, and I will drink hot tea, but I'm still a coffee addict : )
ReplyDeleteI like trying different flavors. It's nothing like sitting down with a hot mug of tea. Mint might be my favorite flavor.
ReplyDeleteI'm a hibiscus tea kind of girl! :D Loooove that!
ReplyDeleteCoffee coffee coffee coffee . . . that's my first choice in the mornings, but I do enjoy hot tea from time to time and will try almost any kind. One of the guys we've gotten to know at a little Mediterranean restaurant we frequent gave us some tea with cardamom to enjoy with baklava he wanted us to try (sin, I know!) to have the 'full' baklava experience. Oh. My. Word. It was amazing with baklava; just the right contrast with the sweetness. Not sure I'd drink it all the time, but I'm glad he gave us a sample.
ReplyDeleteIced tea gal, here. I never have developed a taste for hot tea, but I try new kinds now and then just to see if anything changes.
ReplyDeleteNo tea for me unless I'm sick. Iced tea with lemon once in a while. I'm with Denise... coffee, please! Being from New Orleans, my coffee has chicory in it. There's a sign in my kitchen that says: Give me coffee and nobody gets hurt. lol
ReplyDeleteI do drink tea. My favorite is my own, homemade chai.
ReplyDeleteYUM.
In the mornings, it's coffee. My drug of choice. Since it's just for me, I mix 1/3 decaf & the rest 'regular'coffee. As for tea, ice tea no lemon, year-round. The last year or so my ice tea has been green, it used to be black. During the winter, I love a nice warm mug of tea, usually Orange Spice, Earl Grey, Chamomile, or one of many others that have found their way to cupboard over the years. I have some from mainland China and the boxes alone can be a conversation piece. I'd like to find a local tea shop where I can buy small amounts, loose.
ReplyDeleteI am strictly a black tea iced tea drinker. I drink at least 96 oz. every day. I am a tea addict.
ReplyDeleteLOVE tea. Mango black tea for iced (no sugar or sweeteners) and organic jasmine(i REALLY like the flowering ones) tea are my favorites. I also really like Tazo zen and refresh teas and the Numi organic teas. YUM
ReplyDeleteI like most of the Celestial Seasonings brand of herbal teas. My absolute favorite is 'honey vanilla chamomile', also known as heaven. It is almost buttery, very delicious. I unwind each evening with a glass of hot tea. It also helps to fight evening cravings. I like peppermint herbal tea, I drank it for a while instead of coffee - that didn't last long. This girl runs on caffeine and deadlines! :)
ReplyDeleteI have recently become a teetotaler myself...I was finding that I was drinking too much coffee, and tea has provided me with a different option!
ReplyDeleteSo far I have enjoyed The Good Earth Sunset Red Tea (herbal so totally decaf) the most. I do like Chai tea (especially with a little smidge of sweet cream coffeemate...delicious!). And I've been trying all of the Lipton pyramid tea bags and my faves are Bavarian Wild Berry (black) and Mandarin Orange (green). Tried their vanilla caramel and didn't care for it much. Also tried the peach mango (white) and it's meh...maybe I would like it more in summer. Finally, I just tried the Bigelow Pomegranate (Black) and it was pretty darn yummy!
In other words, I'm trying a lot of different teas and trying to figure out what I like best. So far, I apparently am drawn towards fruity teas. But we will see how that continues as I branch out! :-)
