What I'm Reading This Week #34

Hello you sassy beast!  Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend?  Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts.  I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season.  I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed.  It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll.   We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance.  It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th.  Do people even celebrate their 30t...

Hump Day Poll: Well, That Was a Mistake

What's the worst hairstyle/cut you've ever had?

With growing up in the 80's/90's, most people would assume the big hair I rocked as a teenager would be the worst but I'd wear that again in a second.  My worst style was my Olivia Newton John cut.  It was a few years past her Physical phase but she was still sportin' that short hair but like slightly tapered against the neck like on the cover of this album.  That looks great on a skinny Aussie, it looks tragic on a 5th grader going through her awkward phase looking like she's storing nuts for the winter.

So what about you...What's the worst hairstyle/cut you've ever had?

Just a reminder, I think tomorrow is when they're pulling emails being sent through Google.  You can go to Bloglovin and follow there (see link below) or bookmark me and remember to stop back.  I've looked into the cost and it would not be cost effective based on the small number of people who click through email links.  Don't you...forget about me!  :-)

  1. I wish I could say I only had 1 bad, too-short haircut in the 80s but I somehow replicated that in the early 200s as well - duh!

I've been keeping it basically the same for years now, a little too long in 2017 and during the pandemic but mainly mid-length, whatever my wavy hair wants to do. As long as it's clean, I live with it and expect everyone else to do so as well.

  2. I had a bowl cut that had kind of gotten a bit too overgrown which made it even worse but fit right in in the 80's - especially after I put sun-in all over my head. Paired nicely with my white sportcoat and Jams. Still to this day it's one of those pictures I look back on and cringe but oh well.

  3. You had that haircut too? I was in 3rd grade and everyone thought I was a boy. It was the worst! Then in the 90's I tried short hair again after seeing Jenna Elfman, from Dharma and Greg, look cute and adorable with the short cut. It was tragic and from the back I looked like a boy again.

  4. Oy, there's been a few, especially as a kid. The worst probably being the Dorothy Hamil haircut that in theory would look pretty, but on me it looked like a page boy haircut and I was too tall and gangly to pull it off. Also the at-home perm my mom gave me int the 7th grade. I looked like I could have been on Shaft.

  5. I had an at home perm in like 5th grade. It was awful. My mom did the perm itself well, but it was horrible on me.
