What I'm Reading This Week #34

Hello you sassy beast!  Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend?  Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts.  I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season.  I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed.  It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll.   We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance.  It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th.  Do people even celebrate their 30t...

Hump Day Poll: Dare to Dream

What would you do it nothing was off limits? What would you do if nothing was impossible due to your weight? What would you do it your inhibitions were cast aside and you stepped outside of the roles you are cast in in your daily life?

These are not rhetorical questions...I want answers. Think about them.

Dare to dream....

  1. If nothing was off limits I would want to try that wing suit thing where they fly right next to the side of a cliff and parachute down at the last second. I would also surf, zipline, kite surf, all kinds of things that weight gets in the way of. I also think that without inhibitions I would have pursued the martial arts not just as a kid.

  2. I would skydive because I'm terrified of heights. With no inhibitions I would run a program that pairs veterans suffering from PTSD and TBI with dogs that rescued from shelters and trained up to be service dogs, and be involved in every aspect. And it would be completely free for veterans. That would be my life's work.

  3. I don't let much stop me from trying things due to my weight. I've been ziplining, parasailing, cliff diving, snow boarding, horseback riding and many more. What I would want is to feel confident doing them. I probably don't enjoy them as much as I should because I'm thinking about my weight and how I look and a million other things that go along with being overweight. I want my daughter to try as much as she can in life, have the time of her life and feel confident along the way.
