Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. What I'm Reading This Week #14

First, I'd like to start by thanking everyone for their kind words in this horrible time both on the blog and in messages and emails.  I have been in this weird brain fog that literally will not allow me to process what is in front of me right now.  These posts were all done ahead of time and this week has been one of just utter confusion and inability to focus, so please accept my apologies if I haven't gotten back to you.  I have read all of the thoughts, stories and well wishes through tears.  It is so nice to have people let you know they're thinking of you and allowing you to get out those feelings that are so fresh and raw.

It's not a happy subject and I know that I'm VERY long winded and I don't mind that some of you were like "TLDR."  It was more of me needing a place to get it out.  It's also to show those who may not have been through this yet or many of them what you could expect.  It's letting you know that should the person whom you had NO say in choosing give the send off screw it up royally, to keep a copy of what you wanted said on you.  If you are unable to read and no one else is doing a eulogy that would be willing to read it, then have a signal with the funeral director that you want them to read it.  No one should ever have to be feeling the way my family feels right now about her service.

*Dance break to Baby Got Back to cut the tension*

I haven't read some of these more than bookmarked them to be read when I'm feeling up to it.

What are you guys doing this weekend?

  1. It has been a tough week and I know focusing has been very hard but you have also found a way to provide others with some helpful advice, some of which I hope they never have to put to use.

  2. Thank you for sharing your loss on the blog. One important thing I hadn't thought of is when selecting a specific pastor to speak at a funeral some thought needs to be given to their age and whether or not they are still publicly speaking, especially if they have retired from pastoring.
I am sorry for your loss and appreciate you sharing on your blog.
