What I'm Reading This Week #34

Hello you sassy beast!  Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend?  Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts.  I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season.  I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed.  It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll.   We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance.  It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th.  Do people even celebrate their 30t...

How Much Vitamin D Should You Take? Probably More Than You Think  (Make sure you read the part about those who are overweight/obese if that applies to you.  Despite taking a 4000-5000IU supplement, my doc still wasn't happy with my 34 level so I take 8000IU's now at her request to get to a healthier version of normal.)





We Tried 6 Methods for Preventing a Bundt Cake from Sticking to the Pan and the Winner Was Pure Magic  (Because there's truly nothing that will send you over the edge quicker than a bundt cake chunk missing after an hour baking when trying to do the flip.  I've got a fancy loaf pan with pumpkins I will try it with too!)

Home Improvement Tricks That Everyone Should Know  (Ooh definitely trying the oven trick.)

Anthony Michael Hall says he regrets turning down the lead role in 'Ferris Bueller's Day Off'  (I would too if I were him, especially given the movie he made instead.)


Charlie Brown holiday specials: Broadcast times, how to watch  (I'd make a point to watch it on PBS if you can.  If you don't want to be hostage to a conglomerate, buy the DVD's for Halloween, Thanksgiving and of course Christmas.)

I think we're road tripping to the drive in this weekend to see Halloween depending on the weather.  Other than that, I don't know that we have on tap.  All I know is I'm with my honey and that's enough for me!

    I have a heavy-duty double pumpkin bundt pan that I've had great luck with the cakes always coming out with no rips or tears. Some of my thinner pans, not so much.
    Weekend has been busy with all kind of crazy stuff, plus grocery shopping this morning that we are thankfully done with. Now it's shower, meal prep for the week, making hubs lunch for work tomorrow and going to work. I'm wearing a shirt that same *game time* yet I don't think I'll have time to watch those games. LOL
