Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. What I'm Reading This Week #31

Happy Friday everyone!  Sorry for the light week but literally NOTHING has been going on and I didn't have it in me to make crap up.  I did have an irritated throat for like 24 hours (after a workout that got me hacking because my lung capacity sucks) and it's sad how an irritated throat now sends you down the rabbit hole and you're all like...

Other than that, I'm going stir crazy.

I do want to wish a very happy birthday to my bestie!  The world is a better place with her in it.

If you need something to watch this weekend, Lollapalooza is on YouTube for free.  I plan on watching The Cure tonight.

It looks like the blast furnace that is the weather will be turned down about 10 degrees for a few days in exchange for rain.  I'm good with that.  No clue what the weekend will look like for us but I'm hoping mind numbing boredom isn't on tap.  I need a change of scenery...SOON.

Anything going on this weekend for you?

  1. Hopefully you're feeling fine this morning but I know the feeling. I get so much as a dry cough for a minute and feel a bit freaked out until it subsides. The weeks are really going by. It's August tomorrow which is mind boggling to me because normally by now we've had a summer full of memories or at least a few road trips or something. It is time for a change of scenery. I know we have done aimless driving but it's tough when you can't stop anywhere really. Kind of limits how far you really want to drive. Let's all have a great weekend regardless!

  3. Thank you!!! oxoxoxo I have the usual stuff on tap, but with some birthday enjoyment too. I really need to get with it and get the laundry started. I've been hopping around all day and as weird as this sounds, I absolutely love looking at an empty laundry bin/basket/hamper (I have all three...lol). I practically get giddy when for one day there's nothing in there. And then it starts again...ROFL. We are in for cooler temps as well, although every day it's about 4-5 degrees warmer than they say. But a definite improvement to the past few weeks. We cut the lawn on Wednesday and with it being so dry, it may not grow very much. I'm hearing 70's on Monday and Tuesday but I can't quite get myself to believe it.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend. Enjoy some cooler time on your patio without all the bugs and sweat for a change!
