Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. What were your non scale victories so far this week? ==================== Get posts sent straight to your inbox on Follow It . Hump Day Poll

Let's talk spirit animals!

Before. I used to think maybe I was a dolphin or an otter or some animal that I thought was cute.  It wasn't until after I visited Yellowstone National Park and read this article that I realized what mine was...

A bison.

In the article, it says "After their babies are born, they’ll stand their ground, snort, and charge to keep them safe."  While I may not have children, I am this way with the people closest to me especially when I see them being disrespected, taken advantage of and/or in physical or emotional danger.   The Mr knows if the potential for a physical altercation was there, I was beside him, not because I didn't think he could handle himself but to show the other person, you have to go through me to get to him.  Like he always said, "it's not me you should be worried about, it's my wife!"  😆  The same applies if I feel he's being disrespected and I have ZERO problem calling someone out, if necessary, to set them straight.

I tried to do the same thing with Grandma and be her health advocate as much as I could until I was outvoted.  It was the last thing I whispered to her before telling her it was okay to go.  "I tried, Grandma.  Please forgive all of us.  I love you."

Now my poll question is, what is your true spirit animal, not just an animal you think is cute?

  1. The Bison definitely makes the most sense and you've always been that way in terms of having people's backs, which is a great quality. I have your back too, but I honestly cannot figure out which animal most closely identifies with my personality traits. I took a quiz to find out and it said Tiger, but I'm not convinced. I like the idea of being more of a dolphin. Playful, inquisitive but smart enough to know how to deal with the sharks of the world too.

  2. I just took a quiz, too, and I'd say I agree with my results. A Deer. It's says this: When you have the deer as spirit animal, you are highly sensitive and have a strong intuition. By affinity with this animal, you have the power to deal with challenges with grace. You master the art of being both determined and gentle in your approach. The deer totem wisdom imparts those with a special connection with this animal with the ability to be vigilant, move quickly, and trust their instincts to get out the trickiest situations.
