What I'm Reading This Week #26

Well you made it to Friday!  I don't know where y'all are but unless you were near Glacier National Park that got snow this week, you were probably boiling in your own pudding to quote Charles Dickens.  I do not dig 90 degrees by noon and it feels like everything is frying left and right including us.  Most of the week I had the 50% shade cloths on the veggies to attempt to save as much as I can.  I need to get the next batch of lettuce in the shade planter to see if I can successfully grow there over the summer since it never gets direct sun.  I told the Mr the other day I feel like nothing is in the right place back there.  I have a lot of containers and I don't know if I need to put some of them on a little ledge since the 5 gallon buckets take up so much room or not.  The zinnias being in a long planter on the fence were a mistake but they were only put there because I had so many extras and didn't want to chuck them.  I have a few struggling...

Scenes from Independence weekend

I actually wrote down a list of places I wanted to hit up this weekend.  I never do that but dang I rather like crossing things off the list!

There's this warehouse full of antiques and salvage stuff and I like to go every now and then.  This weekend I was in full froth mode.

That corbel.  I die.

In case you didn't know it, Anthropologie wanted to remind you that...

I hit up Sur La Table too which meant I was in my happy place.

Sunday after doing a 3 mile walk around cobblestone streets that I'm sure my hips are not happy with today, I made some turkey sliders to get in some cook out food.

I also made a little peach cobbler to make up for all of the crap he had to put up with this weekend but that comes over the next few days for the rest of y'all.  Just know that he deserved this.

  1. It was nice having some structure to our day for a change so that we didn't wander aimlessly. Had the most amazing weather that day too. Walking around in the sun without melting is always nice.

  2. Well, this sounds like a really nice weekend! And the weather was absolutely gorgeous which made being outside a pleasure. Just got back from a nice walk with the hubs and pups at the lake. They are setting up for fireworks for that little town so we just went around the gazebos and "mountains" (hills really...until you climb them; then you're pretty sure you're on Everest). =o) Got a lot of errands done and a new mattress pad so worked on the bed, which I was happy about. Today is muggier, so will take the dogs for a country drive in a little bit before the sun comes out in full force.

    Happy 4th of July!!! xoxoxo
