What I'm Reading This Week #27
Happy Friday everyone! I hope you've got the day off to enjoy. I would really appreciate the weather dialing it back from Satan's taint to dryish heat please. I'm not even asking for much. Like 83 degrees would make me happy at this point but there's no end in sight to the 90's. The Mr and I have both been plagued with migraines this week. He had a two day event and I had an ocular migraine which is just so crappy to deal with since you can't read or do anything until your vision isn't screwed up. I got to wait on hold for an hour Tuesday with the state tax department so I decided to sand and prime the newel post while listening to hold music designed to make you hang up. To quote Bugs Bunny "he don't know me vewy well, do he?" I got that squared away and later went out between pop up storms to deadhead some zinnias which you may have seen in Wednesday's post. Speaking of Wednesday, it was a busy day in the ga...
I had a great time paddling with you. It was a little choppy and windy at times but overall a great workout and I'll take what we can get this late in the season. I never thought we'd be at the point where we're listening to Christmas music on the radio on our way to a paddle.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice that you were able to get out and paddle yesterday. I know the season is soon over so every outing counts.
ReplyDeleteIt's stuffing to me too, even if it never goes near the bird. I hear people say dressing and there is always a mental lag time for me to catch up to what they mean.
I've got no advice to offer on skin care, sorry. A dermatologist would shake their head and sigh (or lecture me) - soap and water followed by sunscreen lotion. I should probably do more, but I don't know where to start.
What are you trying to achieve with the skin care? Moisturization? Protection??
ReplyDeleteGot those covered. Looking to reduce forehead wrinkles. I want to stop them going from cracks to crevices.
DeleteI'm 58 yrs old. I find that a good washing / moisturizing routine, morning and night, does very well with the wrinkles. Sorry....can't recommend any Retinol-type products.
ReplyDeleteStuffing all the way. And it has to go in the bird. I don't even eat it but if thanksgiving is prepared by me, it's in the bird (extra can be made sans bird cavity). My family has done it that way for generations and never had an illness outbreak as a result, so we know what we're doing and can handle the challenge of properly cooking true "from the butt" stuffing.
ReplyDeleteI'm all about "stuffing". I never actually understood the term dressing when I was a kid because to me dressing is for the outside of the bird, not the inside. Just like the term "bed clothes" -- oddest term I've read and actually had to look it up! I thought it was a specific blanket or something! LOL Out of all the different foods for Thanksgiving, the stuffing has always been my favorite and it's the one thing I go for with leftovers first. There's something about the onions and celery that I just love.
