Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. New kicks and alternate soundtrack

Today is our Friday.  Woot!  Gotta love an extended weekend!

Yesterday I got my new kicks  (affiliate link) 


I know...super boring to most.  Well I like it that way thankyaverymuch!  I hate these bright colored mesh pieces of crap that I have to pay $120 for and feel like I have zero support in the actual shoe.  I'm not a runner so I don't need my shoes to look like I am.  I did go up a half size because the length seems to be a little short and the toe box has plenty of room for my tootsies to spread out now.  I'll put 'em to the test this weekend.  I've gotta remember to move my old lady insoles into these.

Last night we were lazy and got downstairs late.  We did Power 90 original which meant it was done on mute.  I can't take Tony Horton and he knows this which is why the newer DVD's have a mute option on the actual menu!  Just for me.  :-)

So we put on our own cardio playlist to go along with it and works well.

The mix gave me that oomph to put my all into the workout and with the tightest hamstrings in the world after the previous night's workout, I needed all the help I could get.  We had some stuff to get done and by the time we got upstairs, it was late and we were starving.  It made me wish I'd done prep earlier but nope so we didn't eat until almost 9pm.  Ugh.

I had the Mr pick up a box of Emergen Zzz and I'll take that tonight so I can hopefully get a good, full night's sleep.

  1. Nice new shoes there girl! I am glad we play that music with P90 and have him on mute the whole time because it's actually a much more effective workout that way.
    I had a bad nights sleep last night, could have used some of that emergen zzz myself but off to work I go, blah!

      I love the new shoes. I hate wearing those mesh disasters especially in the winter when the cold blows right through them. Not good. I couldn't do P90 without some alternative music!
