What I'm Reading This Week #26

Well you made it to Friday!  I don't know where y'all are but unless you were near Glacier National Park that got snow this week, you were probably boiling in your own pudding to quote Charles Dickens.  I do not dig 90 degrees by noon and it feels like everything is frying left and right including us.  Most of the week I had the 50% shade cloths on the veggies to attempt to save as much as I can.  I need to get the next batch of lettuce in the shade planter to see if I can successfully grow there over the summer since it never gets direct sun.  I told the Mr the other day I feel like nothing is in the right place back there.  I have a lot of containers and I don't know if I need to put some of them on a little ledge since the 5 gallon buckets take up so much room or not.  The zinnias being in a long planter on the fence were a mistake but they were only put there because I had so many extras and didn't want to chuck them.  I have a few struggling...

Weigh In

Down 2 this week. I'll take it!  The Mr lost 4!  Show off.

(I forgot to weigh in last week here, I was down 1 during power outage week)

We've got a road trip this weekend. What's on your agenda?

  2. That's awesome! Can we be cautiously optimistic for next week? Enjoy the weekend. I've got Relay for Life tonight, walking all night and selling some goodies as a fundraiser. It's for a good cause and worth it, but it's going to be a long night and a longer tomorrow.

  3. Congrats on the loss two weeks in a row!! Enjoy your road trip--and coming home to the power working! We got our deductible back from our accident (yippee!!) yesterday so that was a lovely surprise. We are taking in someone's dog (bad neglect issues) to see how she gets along with Finny and we'll see how it goes from there. It'll be an interesting weekend that's for sure.... =o)

  7. We took the canoe out yesterday. We have a trolling motor for it and were glad we brought it yesterday the wind was really pushing us around. We paddled as well. Saw a first for me: a couple came in a double kayak and brought their dog. I need to google him, but it was a tallish, short-furred, blue-eyed water dog (clearly! ;) and he was wearing his life vest with the handle on the back. Well, he hopped around in the wearer, getting wet and getting psyched, but once the couple was ready and the wife got in the front, he got really excited and swam out around the kayak. Then the husband got in the back. As I stood there thinking, how are they going to get him in the kayak, they shoved off - the dog swimming out in front!! That dude was still in the lead, slightly to the right side of the kayak as I watched it disappear around a bend! Swimming with his vest on, smiling - I swear! COOL!
Today is unplanned as of yet ;) Hope you guys are having fun!! Way to go on the loss!!!
