Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. Weigh In

Down 2 lbs.  Not real happy with that because I shot myself in the foot this week by not drinking my water and my fiber was low (for me) so my whole world was thrown off.  I am going to have really buckle down this week and make sure I drown myself in water and pre-plan a ton of fiber.  The anger really comes in not at those 2 lbs but at the 6 I'm still up from 2 days of poor eating at Christmas.  Do you know how long it takes me to lose 6 lbs these days!?!?

I burned about 1000 calories less because of the shoulder injury so I need to just suck up that 2 lbs is decent for burning less and get to planning next week.  It's gonna be a doozy.  Punishment week.  After I dig myself out of the clutter mountain we're about to create in the bedrooms.  Wish us luck!

Hope everyone has a great weekend!

  1. I know it's disappointing, but 2 pounds still puts you down to pre-vacation weight. And that despite and injury.

Good luck! I have a ton of stuff that needs to be done this weekend too, but since I have a commitment all afternoon today and all the regular weekend chores still have to be done tomorrow I don't see any of it getting done. Enjoy your decluttering. I know you'll feel better at the end of it.

  2. 2 pounds is great, especially with an injury. Have a fantastic weekend!

  4. After last year I'm seeing what kind of motivation it is to look at something I might want to eat and think "do I want to put in the time it will take to LOSE that?". It always comes on faster than it goes away. I know you'll get there! Happy de-cluttering.

  5. can I ask what your daily intake goals, and weekly calorie burn goals are? I know it's different for everybody but I'm just curious. I wish I could lose two pounds a week. My freakin body hates me right now.

  6. Depending on what kind of exercise I do the calories can be 1900-2200. (I've tried cutting calories and I will stop or gain so I know my body isn't down with that. I'm still in the 290's so I still need a decent amount of fuel.)

Calorie burn wise I aim for a minimum 4300 calories per week but usually end up slightly exceeding it.

I WISH I could consistently lose 2 lbs per week. It's all a crap shoot at this point in the game for me. I've tried every tweak out there. Now it's all a matter of being patient...which I'm so NOT! HA!

  7. I know what you mean about how hard it is to lose a little tiny weight gain anymore. I gained 5 lbs. over Christmas, and am now struggling to get it off AGAIN. I was happy to see 146 show up on my cae two days over the weekend (after I had been 149), but yesterday and today, it was back up to 148. Just trying to keep it below 150, but it's not easy. I was down in the low 140's earlier this Fall--what happened? It is sure hard to get back down there, and then STAY there. I haven't figured out this maintenance deal yet evidently.

At least you're moving in the right direction. I'm sure the shoulder injury is frustrating, limiting your exercise and calorie burn. Hang in there--you'll heal and those pounds will melt away EVENTUALLY!
