What I'm Reading This Week #34

Hello you sassy beast!  Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend?  Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts.  I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season.  I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed.  It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll.   We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance.  It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th.  Do people even celebrate their 30t...

Hump Day Poll: Tappin' Out

Movies so bad you can't even stay until the end.  Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion.  I wanted to leave 10 minutes in.  The Mr and I kept looking at each other every 10 minutes and neither of us said anything.  Afterward, we both said "I wanted to leave from the beginning."  Then we sat there appalled that we wasted our lives on that shitshow and vowed never to sit through a movie that bad again.

I fell asleep during Phantom Menace after Darth Maul died so while I didn't leave physically, I left mentally.  Trainwreck with Amy Schumer we actually left....10 minutes before it was over.  I literally couldn't take it anymore, was so ragey and the Mr was like "I give zero f**ks how this turns out."  We were at a drive-in and since we had a long drive ahead of us, I considered it a plus.  I can only imagine people being like "wow, you hung in that long and are leaving now??"  Yep.  The movie was aptly named so I blame myself for not taking them at their word.

Have you ever walked out on a movie?

  1. My son's then gf insisted we go see Don Jon. I didnt know what is was about. After about 10 minutes of vertigo from dizzying porn flashes and noticing my son with his head in his hands, I announced I was leaving. They quickly followed me out. I marched up to the counter and told them the movie sucks and got a refund.

  2. Romy and Michelle is the only one I have ever wanted to walk out on like that, but didn't. But yeah that Trainwreck was aptly named!

  3. I don't think I've ever actually walked out of a theatre. There have been a couple I would have liked to, but the people/person I was with was enjoying it so I stayed for them.

  4. I've never walked out of a theater for a movie I didn't like (although I've seen many I didn't care for), but when I was young I remember leaving the theater because of being bored and my attention span was wandering.
