What I'm Reading This Week #27

Happy Friday everyone!   I hope you've got the day off to enjoy.  I would really appreciate the weather dialing it back from Satan's taint to dryish heat please.  I'm not even asking for much.  Like 83 degrees would make me happy at this point but there's no end in sight to the 90's.  The Mr and I have both been plagued with migraines this week.  He had a two day event and I had an ocular migraine which is just so crappy to deal with since you can't read or do anything until your vision isn't screwed up.   I got to wait on hold for an hour Tuesday with the state tax department so I decided to sand and prime the newel post while listening to hold music designed to make you hang up.  To quote Bugs Bunny "he don't know me vewy well, do he?"  I got that squared away and later went out between pop up storms to deadhead some zinnias which you may have seen in Wednesday's post.   Speaking of Wednesday, it was a busy day in the ga...

Thank you Hump Day Poll


I met the Mr when I was 17, and I remember my future mother in law giving me a thank you note for something I did.  I thanked her for it, and she said she always sends thank you cards.  Since I was 17 years old, I never gave it a second thought as I usually thanked people at the moment for something they did or said.  I loved the feeling of knowing someone took extra time out of their day to thank someone and how nice it feels to get snail mail.  Ever since then, I've always done thank you notes.  It's second nature.

I keep all of the ones I receive because it just makes me feel all warm and fuzzy to see that someone appreciated something I did for them or gave them.  It kind of reinforces the desire to want to keep doing things to make people smile or make their lives easier knowing its appreciated.

Do you send thank you notes?

    I always believed it was universally practiced since my mom was always insistent on sending thank you cards for everything. But mom's being mom's, she tended to do that for me and my brothers and just had us sign or write a little something in the card before she would send it out. It is a nice gesture and one that is always appreciated. There's no app for that!

    I do send thank you cards. Someone once told me that I was over the top about it, which really bothered me, but I've continued to send them anyway. I enjoy writing them and putting a smile on someone's face.

    I love thank you cards! I keep them all . I keep the most recent ones on display and store the rest.i have been thanked for my thank you cards lol. I have received many comments from people on the ones my sons send out which makes my heart smile.
