Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. Don't be rash

Rashes are not a pretty topic but hey, it happens and they happen for all kinds of reasons.  They happen if you're a regular exerciser and/or runner and yes they happen when you're overweight and even when you've lost weight and the excess skin rubs.  If you don't take precautions to help prevent them, you're gonna end up walking bowlegged or be in tears in the bathroom at work cursing the biggest organ on your body.

Here are some products we use to help reduce the risk of friction rashes when we're in beast mode.

Lady Anti Monkey Butt-   (affiliate link) That is one attractive name, isn't it?  But the name doesn't matter when it works this well.  This is perfect for all places you have friction from under da boobs to gut overhang to thighs and thigh cracks to arm or batwings.  It keeps rash and funk at bay.  Yes, ladies it's talc free so you don't have to worry about having it around your lady bits because... cornstarch.

FungaSoap-   (affiliate link) This is the first thing we lather on our hoo ha area in the shower after our workouts. (Sorry...but we do and you should too!)   It's typically used for athlete's foot to be treated naturally with tea tree oil.  It washes away bacteria and fungus from your skin so wash anywhere your skin has rubbed together during a workout or after a long day to keep the area as clean as possible.

Boudreaux's Natural Butt Paste (affiliate link) Another great name because having something called "butt paste" is just good conversation starters for snooping guests.  (Fill the bottom of your medicine cabinet with marbles to catch them in the act if you want a sure fire way of making sure they don't come back due to embarrassment.  I digress.)  If you know you're in for a long run/workout where the potential to sweat like a fountain, this talc free diaper rash cream is a good way to really bring out the big guns for all cracks, under the breastages and even nips if you don't already use BodyGlide  (affiliate link) for that purpose.

Look, whether it's an athlete problem or a weight (or weight loss) problem, people don't like to talk about this stuff.  So you know your girl is going to be real with you when others may giggle and pretend they don't suffer from these issues.  Rash can be real, yo and thankfully you don't have to suffer!

Do you use any of these products?  What are your tried and true items to help with rashes?

  1. This can be a touchy subject too but I'm glad you're sharing the info. I have one other slightly embarrassing thing to share and I'll just say that it came from a doctor's suggestion. He said to put a cotton ball in your butt to keep the area dry and free of that, well "monkey butt" and all I can say is it works!

  2. I haven't had much trouble with rashes or skin problems - I've been lucky. The only place I really have problems is my inner thighs when I wear a skirt and no pantyhose or tights. I may try that powder next time. I used to have a stick like Bodyglide that worked ok, but it always felt kind of sticky/slimy all day.

  3. I haven't used these but I have heard of two of them, and they always get glowing reviews. What I have used in the summer months for under the boobs and the tummy (or apron as I call it...lol) are cotton liners. The ones for the bra have a section that comes up in the middle to separate the girls and provide a barrier there as well as along the entire band. And then I use a similar one under the stomach. It has made a world of difference, especially when walking the dogs or cutting the lawn. I may buy a couple of these you mentioned though because it would be nice to have something like this overnight while sleeping too.
