What I'm Reading This Week #34
Hello you sassy beast! Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend? Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts. I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season. I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed. It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll. We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance. It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th. Do people even celebrate their 30t...
Not too bad of a drive and to be able to leave the country and all that is pretty cool. Now my car is international! I did have a good time and people who are even semi-aware of who Gene Kelly is should definitely check out the show!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you had a fun trip. I wonder about my basement as a tornado shelter too so you're not alone.
ReplyDeleteLast week was spring break. My folks and I took my son to Mesa Verde. We had a good time, saw a lot, learned a lot, and had one really great hike. Unfortunately the ruins themselves are only open for ranger guided tours, and they don't do those year 'round, so we had to look from a distance.
Spring Break was not long enough. Have a good week.
We don't have a basement - my plan is getting into the bathtub in our main bathroom (no windows, middle of the house) and put a mattress over us. That way when the tornado sucks us up, at least we'll have a soft landing??? I love Gene Kelly too! Sounds like you guys had a great weekend. We spent the weekend at the AT&T store with cell phone issues...I hate that you are basically forced to upgrade!
