Non Scale Victories This Week

During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses.  I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses.  My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights.  Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through.  On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower.  I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. What I'm Reading This Week 2016 #3

Today the Mr has taken a hooky day so we can go to the first showing of Dirty Grandpa.  This is the movie that we got to watch Robert DeNiro and Zac Efron film on Tybee Island on our anniversary in May.  We made a promise to do this date on opening day.  We were on the pier for a while and could be in some long shots so we're going to go sneak in some Trader Joe's light kettle corn and see if we can spot ourselves.  I know, nerds.  But you know how we are, we love movie location vacations so it was kind of cool that we were already on vacation when one was being made.

But enough of our movie location shenanigans...let's get to...

Vegan Protein Sources - Some Will Surprise You  (I'm always looking for good, clean resources)

We don't really have anything on tap for the weekend that I know of.  I'm sure the Mr's plans will involve drooling all over his new fitness toy since he's ignored me when it's on his wrist.

What are you guys into this weekend?

  1. I love hooky days! Especially when I know I've got a big week next week. It's deserved to take some time for yourself from time to time. If anyone is interested I can do a small review of the Microsoft Band 2 after I get a few more workouts and sleep sessions analyzed with it.

  2. No big plans for this weekend. Just cleaning the house and putting away the last of the holiday decorations.

I appreciated your comment on recycling. It seems to me that every nation is different and expecations are different. The province that I live in in Canada has made so much of it manditory for everyone. Even fast food resturants here have bins for paper, compost, other blue bag recyclables, and garbage where one bin used to be. Quite a few public garbage cans are the same way. But it is now a part of life and you notice when it is not available to you. I noticed I felt guilty when I travelled to Tennassee after Christmas and couldn't separate my waste at the cottage we rented. It is a simple thing to do if you make it a habit and the world will thank you.
