What I'm Reading This Week #36
Well hello you! So happy you stopped by and hope you're ready for September. It was a nice birthday week in comparison to last year when we rolled into Kentucky to be greeted with 103 degrees. So 81? Yeah, I'll take it! I saved the gift boxes from my friends to open on my actual birthday including a surprise box I wasn't expecting and it sat in the Amazon pile a little longer than it should have so that was nice. We got my free bundtlet from Nothing Bundt since I pre-worked it off with 9000 'steps' on the bike for 800 calories. We both rolled our eyes at the insane amount of visual shrinkage going on there as the cake doesn't even touch the sides of the package anymore like it used to. If you think we're paying $6 for that crap, you're nuts! (We don't get them unless there's a bogo going on anyway- way too expensive now compared to the $3.99 they were when they rolled into town 8 years ago. Anyhoo... It was your typical midweek...
You never cease to amaze me with the # of links you are able to find. I will be busy today reading through everything. Happy Friday!!
ReplyDeleteI am a wealth of useless knowledge! :-) Happy Aloha Friday!
DeleteI'll have to check these out over the weekend. Little guy has basketball Saturday and the usual weekend chores. Got to find something fun to do too.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with the little guy and definitely find something fun to do! It's the weekend baby! Woot!
DeleteThat things not to say to dog lovers/owners applies well to anyone who has pets (and treats them as the family members they are, not just livestock). Except the "no dogs allowed" thing. To me that borders on the obsessive. If you can't go to someone's house sans dog you might need to figure out why you have to drag your dog everywhere with you, not why your friend doesn't want someone's dog in their house.
ReplyDeleteThe "no dog" thing also sounded a LOT like a whiney breeder complaining that they can't take their kid everywhere, which made me snicker. See! Pets and kids aren't that different!
For the record, I'm a hard core cat person and I don't allow dogs in my (and my cats') house. I don't care how "well behaved" they are, I don't want them in there disturbing my feline peace. I also don't like kids in my house (for the same reason!).
My BIL and SIL are "those" people that drag their dogs everywhere and think everyone should be okay with it. While we did treat our dog like our child, we didn't drag her everywhere and think everyone else should have to treat her like a human baby. We can't have cats in the house because the Mr is allergic but yeah, I don't really want people bringing their pets to my house without asking first and then we can politely decline. ;-)
DeleteI REALLY like the dog article. I wish I could find more hotels and restaurants that allowed pets!
ReplyDeleteI just read yesterday's blog. I loved it. (I had doctor appts. and shopping to do yesterday, I rarely miss a day of reading your blog.) I replied to what you wrote, because it touched me so much--it's like reading my own story. And after I got down commenting, I realized I felt motivated again. Who knows if it will last? But for now, this moment....I can beat down the cravings and temptations. Wanted to let you know, how much you inspire and motivate me, even when you struggle. Hang in there girl, I'm with you!!!
