What I'm Reading This Week #34

Hello you sassy beast!  Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend?  Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts.  I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season.  I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed.  It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll.   We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance.  It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th.  Do people even celebrate their 30t...

Hump Day Poll: Now Hear This!

What clickbait titles irritate you?  (NON-political/pandemic related...we're not going there today.)

I hate being told what I'm "doing wrong" in the title.

ie- "You've been folding clothes wrong your whole life!"  No I haven't.  You're just doing it a different way but everything has to be about what someone perceives as them doing right and everyone else who does it differently being wrong.  How about trying "save time with this laundry folding tip."    If you have to flair it up because your demographic requires a spazzy title then "Less laundry woes, more Netflix binges!  This laundry hack saves loads of time!"  (Barf)

*Also, if you're the praying/good vibes kind, I've got a gynie appt this morning and hoping for the all clear.*

  1. I hate seeing ones that start with "This one weird trick" and then it ends up being something like using vinegar in place of a store-bought rinse aid or something rather mundane like that.

Good vibes and prayers for your appointment!

  2. I get irritated with the hollywood ones were it looks like it's nostalgic (like Stars Who Were Married in Yesteryear) and it's Bogie And McCall, but then you go through the pictures and it's mostly current people). Basically, I hate when I'm thinking I'm going to be seeing something nostalgic and it turns out there's like one picture from "way back when".
