What I'm Reading This Week #34
Hello you sassy beast! Ready for another flip flappin' fantastic weekend? Yes indeedy, Ally Sheedy. It's been a week of working ahead for me as I try to work on ideas for holiday posts. I know, no one is ready for Christmas but spit balling stuff is actually getting me excited for the season. I like to try to give myself the month of December off from writing new posts (except updating weekly happenings) so all I have to do is respond if needed. It lets me take a little mental break during the holidays to try to enjoy what I can then hop back into the new year hopefully rested and ready to roll. We did book our 30th anniversary trip, which is the same one we had to cancel this year and of course got travel insurance. It's just nice to have something to hopefully look forward to and it makes you go "where the heck did 4 1/2 years go?" because it seems like just yesterday we were celebrating our 25th. Do people even celebrate their 30t...
I did not look at the weather so the snow was a total surprise to me and I loved walking in it. So many people cringe with snow but you can't beat walking in a nice light snow, especially when the roads aren't covered so you don't have to worry about the roads being any worse than they are with rain for the most part. The added bonus was the smell of the fire nearby. Perfect way to spend an afternoon!
ReplyDeleteI love snow. We don't get a lot of it here so it's always a bit of a novelty which makes it even better - I never have time to get tired of it. I know a bunch of people that loathe it, but I don't really understand it - unless they are ranchers, then I totally get not wanting to deal with livestock in the snow. The boy and I both tested positive last Monday so we were home from school all week and still on isolation over the weekend. Even though it was a good reason and not a punishment, it felt like an adult grounding and I was so glad to get back to work yesterday. We were lucky that both of our symptoms were fairly mild and short lived. We've had quite a local spike and school has gone remote starting today and we return in person after Thanksgiving.
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a perfect walk in the snow! I love days like that where the roads and paths are dry so you don't slip, but are surrounded by that quiet beauty. Weekend was typical with lots of errands, chores, work, and tons of computer stuff to do. We got some whipping snow but it didn't last more than a day, and then have had flurries on and off since. Temps go from 50 today to 30s tomorrow so it's kind of all over the place.
