Anyone Got a Stretcher Weekend Recap
Howdy y'all! Does everyone else remember going back to school around this time when you were a kid? These days? They've been in school for 2 weeks already!! A friend of ours has a third grader and posted the obligatory list o' facts pic their first day of school two weeks ago and I said I was so glad they didn't send us back that early and he heartily agreed! Saturday was off to a low key start but waiting for a small weight rack to replace the mondo one we had down there. They were dragging their feet so I watered the plants front and back and we went out for a little bit then drove through the old hood. We drove past my high school besties house as well as ours. This is the second time we've gone there to reminisce and within 30-60 seconds people roll up on us like they notified the po po of the new car in the court. Lord forbid I look at my childhood apartment for a few minutes so we left since it didn't feel safe. There's nothing...
I always wished I could work on cars enough to replace some of the big items. I did my own brakes once and was just too nervous the whole time. Then I went to drive after changing them and had no idea you had to "bleed" the lines first. Had to call the uncle on that one for guidance. So while I did it okay in the end, save for that one step, it still had me so nervous that I was just like why put myself through this? Let a pro do it. I know guys who change their own shocks and struts, etc all the time like it's nothing but I just don't have the knack for that stuff. I almost inevitably end up losing a very important bolt never to be found again in the process of any type of auto repair. So I wish I had that talent, but I don't.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could play the piano. I was in band, and hated it, because I wanted piano and/or keyboard lessons. Ironically my mom could play by ear on multiple instruments.
ReplyDeleteI'm like you, I wish I had the talent to play a musical instrument. In grade 7 everyone in my class was made to learn an instrument. I learned the alto saxophone. I was not good, no matter how hard I practiced, and dropped it as soon as I could. I also tried learning the guitar and the piano, but no good. My hands and eyes are just not coordinated enough to read the music notes and make them at the same time. So I cook/bake. I can read and then I do or I can improvise.
