Non Scale Victories This Week
During last night's LIIFT 4 Shoulders workout, I saw an improvement over last weeks shoulder presses. I was unable to do the 2nd and 3rd sets last week overhead after about 3-4 presses. My left shoulder would literally fall like I'd lost all muscle control with 10 lb weights. Yesterday I used the same 10 lbs and it wasn't until the 7th rep on the second set that I started to feel bad fatigue but pushed through. On the third set my shoulders were shot but I was still able to push overhead even if slower. I pushed to fatigue but didn't have that dangerous muscle drop I had before. The zinnias I grew from seed are mostly in full bloom and I took some pics before cutting some to put in a little vase. Love the photo!! Before I finished reading, I was prepared to tell you to save it and have it altered. Why wait until you're at goal weight?
ReplyDeleteGetting rid of the too-big clothes were like saying goodbye to old friends. I kept a few things but there's certainly more room in the closet!!
Because I'm too cheap to have them altered twice. ;)
ReplyDeleteYou should have success with getting that skirt altered (it seems like a simple enough pattern--though I don't sew clothes so. . .)
ReplyDeleteI'm kind of sad to see my cute pjs get too big. I love the sock monkey print ones from Target. At least with pjs you can still wear them even if they're falling off you.
So I was about 230 at my wedding and I was thinking about getting my dress altered when I get to my goal weight to take pictures in it. I love my wedding dress it is the most beautiful thing in the world. I know it will be hundreds of dollars so right now I am just thinking about it. But who knows.
ReplyDeleteMy husband put on his hawaiian shirt from our honeymoon (25 lbs ago for him) and it was too big but I love that shirt and he can never get rid of it because of the memories in it.
Sad sarongs say so much! Lol...I crack myself up. I hated all my clothes from my fattesttime but I did save a fav jeans, shirt, sweats and pajamas so I can remember from whence I came. My PJ's were probably lay the saddest for me to give up. I wore them. Til I literally walked out of them one day and my husband said to let it go, Jan, let it go......
ReplyDeleteA few! I have a nice sheath dress with jacket in my favorite color that I only wore once...no occasion after that. Took it to a consignment shop and was told by a snootie saleswoman that they 'couldn't use it' as 'dresses don't sell'. Snarl. Maybe I'll have it altered if I ever again have occasion to wear a nice dress. I'm still wearing a cute pair of capris Two sizes larger than I'm buying now. They fit ok when I first put them on but by noon are baggy in the butt and need a belt; I'm a sucker for punishment.
ReplyDeleteI don't really hold on to clothes unless it is sentimental. I have a vintage black dress that is snug, and a red disco dress not going anywhere lol.
ReplyDeleteI found a girl that does alterations out of her home cheap.
But with that sarong you could check Youtube and see if you can find someone that makes them and see how they sew it could be super easy.
Congrats on the weight loss.
The work pants I put on this morning! I love them. I still wore them but in a week or two they wont fit at all. Maybe I should wear them everyday until then...hmmm...by that point I'd be happy to say goodbye
ReplyDeleteI think it is so fun trying on old clothes! I bought the cutest peacoat that was purple and gray checks and only wore it once! We had such a hot winter and I didn't even need the jacket! Now it is like a dress! I bought another peacoat already for this winter a size XL instead of the 3X I had! :) Hopefully it will fit or be too small this winter!
ReplyDeleteAw, I'm sorry. But at least you're not fitting into it for a GOOD reason. :) There have been a few pairs of jeans that I've been bummed about losing as my weight has gone down, but it's mostly because it's so hard for me to find jeans that fit my body well!
ReplyDeleteI wear everything I own to death so very few things would be worth altering! I would wait also, just to cheap for my own good!
ReplyDeleteThe only clothes I was sad to see go were the ones I bought after the first size drop. A month later I was down another size and out a passel of $$$ for new clothes that were already too big. The next round wasn't so bad, because I bought them at the thrift store or Walmart. :)
ReplyDeleteI really like the pattern, so I can see why you'd want to keep it and alter it. I don't have anything special that I want to hold on to, I'm really just looking forward to being able to buy what I WANT to wear, rather than just something I can fit into.
ReplyDeleteYes! A cashmere sweater and I recently parted ways and it was so sad!
ReplyDeleteI've had a few items that I hated to let go. One pair of pants in particular that I wish I had saved and had altered. I have a long black skirt that I absolutely love, I'll be saving that to have it altered. Otherwise, not so much.
