What smell brings back great memories?
For me, it's usually things that remind me of Grandma. A beef roast cooking, or White Diamonds perfume. Sawdust reminds me of early childhood as my dad and brothers were always building something. The air in Hawaii has a distinct smell to it that reminds me of our early trips.
How about you?

This sounds funny but when we were on a walk and smelled the lawn spray fertilizer, it was the same stuff people in my old neighborhood used when I was a kid and it instantly took me back to the days of walking around doing my paper route in the summer. I also agree with the smell of Hawaii - can't beat that!
ReplyDeleteMom's beef roast, onions and garlic sauteeing, reminds me of my youth. The scent of pine (true pine trees, not the perfumed up scent that overwhelms) always reminds me of the North woods and is an instant smile-inducer. Cranberry, banana, and pumpkin breads remind me of falling leaves and fireplaces. Happy sigh... Great question!
