For real? - Weigh In

Down 5 lbs.

People, I have all but given up figuring out how my body works!  I did get in 3 days of "normal" exercise last week before the 2 days of no impact modification so there's that.  We did it again last Sunday and basically had another high cal day because we were forced to eat out because the kitchen was baking central and the Mr said he wanted me off my feet.  So we tried to eat as healthy as we could (which we did) but it was the cookie tasting that killed us.  I'm still glad I did though because one of those batches was bad and I threw them out.  So remember how we had 2 high cal days the weekend before and I gained the 3 I lost the week before that??  Oy.  Whatever man, I'll take it knowing it's short lived.  If my foot gets better by NYE we may be doing a bit of an indulgent weekend.  Well that coupled with 3 eat fests from the 22nd to the 25th will shoot me back into the 80's but for today, I will enjoy the 70's again however brief it may be.

I've got dinner pics but they're not uploaded yet so I'll probably post them tomorrow if you guys want to see them.  I just need a day to myself to have no demands, no plans, watch the remaining Christmas movies we haven't watched yet and actually elevate my foot.  The Mr is burnt out too.  I'm thinking next December, Hawaii and we'll drop off our presents on Thanksgiving and see everyone at Easter.  :)

Anything planned for today?

  1. I had a similar week. Lots of stress, high calorie days and still lost 2lbs(when my weight loss has been kinda stalled lately) I was totally expecting a gain! Our bodies are weird!

  2. Congratulations! Five pounds - I'm a jealous cow.

I love the dinner pictures. I'm pretty sure its what drew me in the first place. I get good ideas there. But it is the holidays and dinner will still be there when things settle down. Rest your foot and your brain and enjoy your down time.

  5. Wouldn't that be fantastic! Hawaii for the winter and no holiday stress. Then again you'd miss the snow. Of course this winter you might miss the snow from your own living room.

Congrats on the 5 lbs no matter how short-lived it may be.

  6. Congratulations on 5 lbs!!! Our bodies make no sense sometimes, so we'll take good news when we can get it! =o) Plans for the weekend included getting 2 new tires for the car, eye doctor, Christmas shopping and hockey game tonight. My father-in-law passed away on Wednesday so the whole family drama door just got opened again with the mother. I'm seriously considering running away where no one can find me. =o)

  8. I'll take it! Finally got the courage and remembered at the same time to get on the scale after about three months of paying no attention whatsoever. I'm up 17. Just hope that two or three of those was water retention from a very salty previous day's food, but WTH! I haven't been going THAT crazy! Or have I? No one to blame but myself, and no plans for today except being lazy yet again. At least all Christmas plans and preparations are done.

  9. Nice job!! I'm happy the scale moved for you...it always gives me a little emotional boost when that happens. My body is weird, too. I'll go 12-15 days without any movement and then whoosh...5 pounds down. Drives me bonkers, but I've come to expect that that's my body's preferred way and who am I to fight it, you know? Enjoy your relaxation today!

  10. Bodies and scales are equally weird. Glad it went your way this week!

Today is a fleece-and-snuggly day for me. I'm enjoying myself tremendously!

  11. Well, that ought to make the crappy foot injury feel a little better! I am in the kitchen all day today--made 6 huge homemade pizzas and 2 big cakes for a sweet 16 party for a friend's daughter tomorrow. Still have to decorate the cakes so it's back to the kitchen I go!

  12. Enjoy that 5-lbs loss! You earned it, exercising thru the pain!! With you--I am confident that you will never give up--it's a lifestyle and no matter how long it takes--in the long-run, the scale will continue the downward trend. Love the recipes and your blog. I read every single one!! Your comment on my 3-yr anniversary blog cracked me up--I am not now nor will I ever be a "sexy beast" but it sure made me smile!!

  13. Woo hoo! Don't question it, just embrace it. :) I've decided to not weigh myself until after Christmas--I am waving the white flag. Too much baking this week. :(

I hope your foot is better in time for the New Year!
