My husband jokes that when I ever get pregnant I'll probably crave normal things... haha!Courtney1221https://www.blogger.com/profile/02058030872040897208noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-35899741050226213412011-08-19T12:43:19.493-04:002011-08-19T12:43:19.493-04:00When I have to "clean out" the fridge, s...When I have to "clean out" the fridge, some strange bedfellows of meals get created. Nothing has ever been gross enough not to eat, has been well received and a pleasant surprise to me since I wonder as I put it all together trying to save stuff from going bad.Dineenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04822257093141914715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-38287284066625034162011-08-18T17:34:12.996-04:002011-08-18T17:34:12.996-04:00We have a chicken farm restaurant within 30 minute...We have a chicken farm restaurant within 30 minutes. They serve broasted chicken (fall off the bone), shells w/ italian sauce, thick-cut fries and tossed salad. The first time my DH brought me there, I was very surprised. He had just said, "They don't even ask you what you want. They bring a chicken meal and then keep it coming." Love that combo. Haven't had in ages. One can get the salad dressing and pasta sauce at the grocery stores around here. My philosophy is why NOT live dangerously and try an unusual combination; sometimes you discover something wonderful!Denisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11794334786555278616noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-70152338752553992792011-08-18T14:44:31.183-04:002011-08-18T14:44:31.183-04:00I just had a left over pork tenderloin 2.5 oz. Needless to say, I did not prepare that combination but it would have made her very happy as she does not like veggies or fruit, unfortunately.Kimberly Cooperhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07035168471351870760noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-53415756369183629942011-08-18T09:41:15.750-04:002011-08-18T09:41:15.750-04:00Yesterday for lunch I ended up grabbing the leftov...Yesterday for lunch I ended up grabbing the leftover taco meat we had the night before and a frozen bag of rice (I single freeze leftovers for lunches) and it was curried rice with toasted pine nuts. I wasn't sure it would go with the taco meat, but it was actually pretty yummy. And it smelled great.Dianehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15717758915060629723noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-36076892533683073162011-08-18T09:07:51.702-04:002011-08-18T09:07:51.702-04:00I know I've done some weird combos, but I can&...I know I've done some weird combos, but I can't think of any in particular right now.

Probably the oddest meal we have is leftover night. At random intervals I pull all the leftovers out of the fridge and throw them on the table together. So if we've had spaghetti, tacos and BBQ the last 3 nights... it can get interesting but if they were all meals we like the first time around no-one complains.another layerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15756727485274694135noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7381223979507114346.post-49571544585847837552011-08-18T07:46:02.839-04:002011-08-18T07:46:02.839-04:00I don't really know actually. I'm kind of a freak about creating a meal and having everything mesh well together.

In other news, I've been making potato chips in the microwave a bit too much lately. Spray a plate with PAM or brush with oil. Slice potatoes thinly (I use red, only because they're the lowest on the GI). Coat the potatoes wiht a bit of oil, salt and pepper (or whatever you want). Lay out on the plate and then nuke them for about 7 minutes. They should be lightly golden.

It's a pain in the ass and takes forever, but they're good.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
