What I'm Reading This Week 2016 #3

Today the Mr has taken a hooky day so we can go to the first showing of Dirty Grandpa.  This is the movie that we got to watch Robert DeNiro and Zac Efron film on Tybee Island on our anniversary in May.  We made a promise to do this date on opening day.  We were on the pier for a while and could be in some long shots so we're going to go sneak in some Trader Joe's light kettle corn and see if we can spot ourselves.  I know, nerds.  But you know how we are, we love movie location vacations so it was kind of cool that we were already on vacation when one was being made.

But enough of our movie location shenanigans...let's get to...

Vegan Protein Sources - Some Will Surprise You  (I'm always looking for good, clean resources)

The Oceans Will Contain More Plastic Than Fish by 2050  (I'm officially horrified.  People, for the love of God and our planet....RECYCLE!!!!!)

Here's What a Full Week of Fruits and Veggies Looks Like  (Kind of nice to see it laid out day by day.  Not as impossible as some may think)

12 Great Stretches for Tight Hip Flexors  (Mama has been TIGHT this week!)

20 Reasons It's Harder Than Ever to Lose Weight  (Yep, that's kind of depressing)

Myths About Salt Debunked  (Good stuff to know)

40 Weight Loss Tips for Over 40  (YAY...we're on the right path!  A sidenote...when the eff did this apply to me?!)

How to Foam Roll to Prevent Knee Pain   (Looking forward to some permanent relief)

Parents: You’re not doing your job. Sincerely, expert and author Leonard Sax  (Gotta say, he makes some points)

This mother drank while pregnant. Here’s what her daughter’s like at 43.  (If you share nothing else, share this.  It is completely eye opening to see the effects on an adult)

Wild Otter Swims Into Aquarium's Tide Pool, Gives Birth To Adorable Pup  (My heart!  Exploding with furry squee!!!)

Watch This Little Lamb's Adorable Reaction Whenever He Hears His Name  (Awwww!!!)

It’s a Time Warp! Tim Curry Will Star in Fox’s Rocky Horror Picture Show  (So incredibly happy!  I'm so grateful Tim has recovered enough to do the part he's cast in!)

We don't really have anything on tap for the weekend that I know of.  I'm sure the Mr's plans will involve drooling all over his new fitness toy since he's ignored me when it's on his wrist.

What are you guys into this weekend?

  1. I love hooky days! Especially when I know I've got a big week next week. It's deserved to take some time for yourself from time to time. If anyone is interested I can do a small review of the Microsoft Band 2 after I get a few more workouts and sleep sessions analyzed with it.

  2. No big plans for this weekend. Just cleaning the house and putting away the last of the holiday decorations.

I appreciated your comment on recycling. It seems to me that every nation is different and expecations are different. The province that I live in in Canada has made so much of it manditory for everyone. Even fast food resturants here have bins for paper, compost, other blue bag recyclables, and garbage where one bin used to be. Quite a few public garbage cans are the same way. But it is now a part of life and you notice when it is not available to you. I noticed I felt guilty when I travelled to Tennassee after Christmas and couldn't separate my waste at the cottage we rented. It is a simple thing to do if you make it a habit and the world will thank you.
