The charm and what I'm reading this week

It's finally Friday y'all!  Last night we FINALLY got to give our friend her paddleboard lesson.  Third time's the charm.  We left a little later than I would've liked but it ended up working out for the better.  We are a few days away from a full moon and we got on the water probably 15 minutes before true sunset.  I was able to get some great pics of her silhouetted and she said it was so peaceful and she felt like she was flying.  We stayed out until 9:15pm and enjoyed the quiet for a few minutes.  It was our first but definitely not our last night paddle especially when the moon is close to full!

But enough of that, let's get to...

We're meeting my friend halfway between our respective cities tomorrow for an early birthday bash and her paddleboard lesson.  I know, we're paddling fools.  Or just fools.  TBD.  I'm spending today making stuff for a picnic I'm bringing.  Roasted turkey club on focaccia, chips and a special cookie I'll likely give the recipe for next week.

What's on your agenda for the weekend?

  1. The 3rd time was definitely the charm. What a great night! Couldn't have had better weather or a better moon to light the way in the dark. That was exactly the type of night that I was hoping for and one of the many reasons why I wanted a paddle board in the first place. TGIF!

  2. I'm so glad you had such a great time with your friend. She got a little taste of the extra bonus of peacefulness that she probably wasn't anticipating.

Today was my last day on the job. I left at 1:30, then went to the dentist to get my chipped tooth fixed while I still had the 2 dental insurances (literally chipped my tooth by clenching my teeth to keep from screaming one day --who knew that could really happen but it sure did). I haven't had time to decompress yet, but I think tomorrow morning when I wake up and think, "Gee I would have been on-call this weekend", I'll flop back in bed with glee. I did have a really nice send off from a group of good people though which I totally wasn't expecting. It's my own dept that sucked rumpus with management that was so darn nasty all these months. But have no fear...I let HR know the 411 when I had my exit interview. That lady practically has smoke coming off of her pen she was writing so much! LOL

Tomorrow I have a meeting in the morning, then to the vet with one of the pooches for her annual exam/vaccinations. Then off to the post office, Farm and Fleet for the hubs, then lunch with a friend in the afternoon. Probably won't hit me until Monday at 4:30am when I DON'T have to get up for work that I'm free -- which means I'll still wake up at 4:30 and won't be able to go back to sleep. Snort! Have a super duper weekend!
