Is this 'plus sized?'
http://youtu.be/zdgdiXw9S-c
Sooo because she has like 1" of muffin top and bigger boobs she's considered plus sized? Seriously? If this is plus sized, I wanna be it!
Thoughts?

Yeah. That girl isn't fat. She's HOT.
ReplyDeleteI wish. maybe someday, but genetics haven't been kind to me in that regard.

Yeah, I've seen this girl in their catalogs, too. They NEVER have plus size models in any of their catalogs. Funny thing, you know a shirt or dress is bad when it even looks horrific on one of these thin models. As for the big boobs, they only carry two bras in a cup size I can wear...and lemme tell ya, they are cute like the one she was wearing.
ReplyDeleteI have this theory that the fashion industry considers anything in the double digits (so, 10s as well) to be a 'plus size' because it has an extra digit.
ReplyDeleteI wish I was fat like her. WTF is wrong with people. Good lord, if ever I could look like that, I'd say I'd won the golden ticket!

Technically, she is plus sized (by fashion standards).
ReplyDeleteI'm wondering if she really needs a plus sized store, though. She's, what, a 14-16 max, right? She can get those sizes in a "normal" store (says the woman who is the same size).
If they want to really SELL a plus sized store, they need a more plus-y plus woman (says the woman who used to be an "official" plus).
Can I be "plus sized" like her? REALLY?!? I suppose by today's clothing standards, she IS plus size, but I'd LOVE to look like her!
ReplyDeleteOk, so she is busty - but where is the plus size??
ReplyDeleteUmmm just for silly sake, I'll take the other side of the argument. Maybe she is really and truly plus size and the clothes just make her look smaller? If that's the case I need to order everything she's wearing.
ReplyDeleteRight?!? I saw that too and I was like that WHAT?! She has less rolls then I do!
ReplyDeleteUm, yeah, no, that is not what most of us would call 'plus sized'--gah, the perspective of the fashion industry (and the ad world) is so horribly skewed! If you're not rail thin, you are plus sized; seriously? No wonder most women have body image issues!
ReplyDeleteYeah - she pretty much has my dream body and I'm also pretty sure if you put her in those undies next to a supermodel in her undies...the average man would pick the "plus" girl. She's hot and I'd guess about a size 10. Since when is this plus? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I wanna be her! Okay, I DON'T want to BE her but I'd sure like her body! She's - what, a size 12, maybe? She doesn't even look like a 14. And I agree with Annie, if you put her and the standard fashion model next to each other and asked a regular guy which he wanted, I'd bet he'd take the "plus-sized" model. She certainly isn't a plus size in my opinion. I would be really happy with her figure. It's sad because it's ads like this that have women and girls really confused about body image and what's healthy. I'll stop now or I'll end up ranting...
ReplyDeleteDesertBloom21 here! I just had to comment on this commercial. She has big boobs. That is the only "plus size" thing about her. I really can't believe she's even a 12. I'm a 14 and not nearly that narrow. Sigh. Thanks a lot, advertisers.
ReplyDeleteSign me up!!! I wanna be "plus sized" too!!!!!!! Can I? Can I???? Pretty please with ice cream and a cherry on top!!!! :-D
